2024 American Express Platinum Card Celebration Offers

In celebration of the card's 40th anniversary, American Express is offering exclusive offers and experiences for a limited time only to American Express Platinum Card® cardholders. From May 9 to September 30, 2024, you can get a range of benefits, including free hotel stays and enhanced rewards.

American Express Platinum Card Anniversary Celebration

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Platinum Card, American Express is offering cardholders a host of travel, dining and retail perks and perks throughout the summer.

Free third night at designated hotels

While some American Express cards already include free night bonuses, you can also get a free third night at select hotels when you book through the American Express Travel Portal. You can make a reservation at any of more than 200 Fine Hotels + Resorts® and The Hotel Collection hotels.

Earn more Hilton points by transferring money from your American Express card

From May 9 to May 31, you'll earn 40% more Hilton Honors points than usual when you transfer your American Express Membership Rewards points to the hotel chain's loyalty program (assuming you're logged in as of 2,024 Cardholder on April 20, 2018).

American Express points transfer to Hilton Honors points at a 1:2 ratio, so this promotion means you will now earn 2,800 Hilton Honors points instead of 1,000 American Express points per transfer Earn 2,000 Hilton Honors points.

You can use these points to book hotels like the Conrad Los Angeles. Depending on when you book, around 90,000 Hilton points can get you into a deluxe king room for about $500 a night. If you're interested in staying at a specific Hilton hotel and want to use your points, the 40% bonus is a nice perk. But keep in mind that American Express points are often worth more when redeemed in other ways, such as through travel partners.

Right to choose restaurant reservations

American Express has launched the “40-Night Platinum Card”. Platinum cardholders can enjoy cardholder-exclusive reservation discounts at selected popular restaurants across the country through the Global Dining Access of the Resy program.

While the Global Dining Plan is a feature already offered to eligible American Express cardholders in addition to the Platinum Card, the 40-Night Platinum Card specifically gives Platinum cardholders access to make reservations on specific dates. This means you have the opportunity to book a room that isn’t available on other dates – if you can book it in time.

Anniversary-themed cocktails and food at US Centurion Lounge

American Express Platinum Cardholders have access to Centurion Lounges, currently located in more than 14 locations across the United States, including New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). JFK Airport's lounges offer amenities such as the 1850 speakeasy and Equinox Body Lab wellness experience, while LAX's lounges offer Los Angeles-style cuisine and tranquil guestrooms. In honor of the card's 40th anniversary, you can also indulge in specialty food and cocktails.
