Makhachev VS Makhachev winner and loser Poirierka

The UFC takes place tonight on the UFC 302 pay-per-view card at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. In the main event, UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev looks to defend his title against former interim champion Dustin Poirier. In the night's co-headlining bout, former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland takes on former title challenger Paulo Costa.

The main card of UFC 302 airs live on ESPN+ PPV following prelims on ESPN2 and early prelims on ESPN+.

Dustin Poirier has attempted to win undisputed UFC lightweight gold twice before. His efforts failed, ultimately losing to Charles Oliveira and Khabib Nurmagomedov. Islam Makhachev has successfully defended his UFC lightweight title twice. Both wins came against former UFC 145-pound champion Alexander Volkanovski. UFC 302 marks Makhachev’s first title defense against a “real” 155-pound challenger.

Makhachev holds the UFC record for the longest winning streak at 13 fights. If Makhachev defeats Poirier, he will join Anderson Silva and Kamaru Usman as the only fighters to win 14 or more consecutive fights in the UFC. Poirier enters UFC 302 ranked No. 4 in the official UFC lightweight rankings.

Sean Strickland held the UFC middleweight title from September 2023 to January 2024. Dricus du Plessis lost the belt. Paulo Costa is coming off a February 2024 loss to former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker.

Strickland is ranked No. 1 in the UFC middleweight division, leading UFC 302.

UFC 302 results, winners and losers will be updated live on tonight's pay-per-view card.

UFC 302 winner

Andrea Lima: Andre Lima dropped 5 pounds, which wasn't a good way to prepare for his UFC 302 fight with later replacement opponent Mitch Raposo.

Lima performed very well against his tough rivals. He is calm and cautious and uses his kicks to his advantage. He had no trouble picking up what should have been a clear unanimous decision win.

The thing to watch for Lima is whether he can make weight. He did just that in his UFC debut in March, but it won't happen more than once at 125 pounds at 130 pounds.

UFC 302 Loser

Mitch Raposo: Mitch Raposo was defeated in a match against Andre Lima. He seemed unwilling to engage, and when he did, Raposo's attacks were clicks rather than combinations.

This is Raposo's UFC debut and it came on a short notice, so this might be the best fight to judge his future. However, he needs to show a lot of improvement in the next game.
