Man left 'annoyed' after Domino's delivery driver blocks disabled space in Nottinghamshire store

A Nottinghamshire man has expressed his frustration over ongoing issues over disabled parking spaces at his local Domino's Pizza for “months”. Gareth Hinds, 43, from Stapleford, says the store's delivery drivers have been blocking the entrance to the single disabled parking space outside the store on Derby Road, Stapleford.

Hind claims the situation has been going on for “some time,” with the original complaint filed in November 2023. When Hind went to the store to collect his free pizza, his parking space was blocked, but a voucher was recently provided to him after he complained.

The man, who has suffered from pain for years and can no longer walk or stand properly, said: “Although I love their pizza I will never use them again. I will use the Beeston branch from now on but it's quite far from our house so it's not fair.”

“I feel like they don't care about people with disabilities. I liked the free pizza but would have preferred if I could have parked my car in front of the store.”

“It's the only handicapped parking space so it's very frustrating,” added Hinde, who said he once had a delivery driver block his space and had to wait for him to leave before backing out of the car park.

He and his wife said they “didn't have enough space to squeeze into” their old car. “Now we can just about squeeze in our new car.”

Domino's said its drivers would not block disabled parking spaces under any circumstances, and a spokesman said: “We pride ourselves on being a positive presence in the communities we serve.”
