Deadly Legends and Da Vinci Designs Super Drops – Destructoid

Wizards of the Coast will launch two “Secret Lair” drops in conjunction with the Majors Assassin's Creed Magic: The Gathering put. These drops will contain ten unique cards, perfect for Assassin's Creed and MTG Fans or collectors alike, bring characters and gear to life like never before.

Secret Lair drops complement main set releases with incredible artwork, add-on cards, or alternative versions of cards that fans will find when opening card packs. Every drop is limited, meaning only those who purchase them while they're in stock or while stocks last will be able to own them. Like all other secret lair drops, Assassin's Creed: Deadly Legends and Da Vinci Design Super Drops will not be reprinted and will become part of MTG History you can own, play with, or forever collect.

As I mentioned above, there are ten cards in total. Secret Lair x Assassin's Creed: Deadly Legends Superdrop. The products come in two sets of five, so you can buy one or all of them. My goal is to do both because I like the transition of themes between the two. See below for the cards you'll get in each set.

Both sets of products will be available at June 24, 2024 to July 14, 2024. Wizards of the Coast messed up the dates during their official WeeklyMTG livestream revealing the cards, but Secret Lair confirmed the correct dates on Twitter.

These five cards are fairly simple and easy to understand. I must say, Master Assassin Basim sounds crazy and if you can achieve victory with his abilities then you are a tactical genius.

  • Eivor, Champion of the Crow Clan:3/2 Legendary creatures and human warriors. Whenever a warrior attacks, you can have its controller create a 1/1 white warrior creature token that taps when attacking. By paying one mana of each color, you can untap all attacking creatures. This also gives them lifelink, trample, and haste until end of turn. After this phase, there will be an additional combat phase, but you can only activate this ability during combat.
  • Altair, fraternity mentor: 2/2 legendary creature and human assassin with alertness and agility. You gain +1/+1 for each experience token you have. Click to deal 1 damage to a creature you don't control. When a creature dies this turn, you gain another experience counter.
  • Amunet, the end of the tyrant: 3/3 legendary creature and human assassin with deathtouch and haste. When the tyrant Doom Amunet enters the battlefield, you become the monarch. At the beginning of your upkeep, if your opponent is a Monarch, create a 1/1 black Assassin creature token with Death Hand and Haste.
  • Basim, Master Assassin: 4/4 legendary creature and human assassin with Deathtouch. Other Assassins you control get +1/+1. Whenever a player loses the game, you win the game if they were attacked by an assassin you controlled that turn.
  • Captain Edward Jackdaw: 3/3 Legendary creatures and human pirates. Other pirates you control get +1/+1. At the beginning of your end step, gain control of target nonland permanent controlled by a player who took combat damage this turn but has three or more Pirates.

These five cards are all equipment, so you'll inevitably use them with the assassin above Assassin's Creed The deck you build.

  • Blade of Self: 2 mana artifact equipment. There are countless equipped creatures. Equipment 4.
  • Conqueror's Flail: 2 mana artifact equipment. Permanents you control that have creatures equipped get +1/+1 of each color. As long as Conqueror's Flail is attached to a creature, your opponent can't cast spells during your turn. Equipment 2.
  • Black steel plate: 3 mana artifact equipment, indestructible. The equipped creature has indestructibility. Equipment 2.
  • death rendering: 4 mana artifact equipment. Equipped creature gains +2/+2. Whenever an equipped creature dies, you may put a creature card from your hand onto the battlefield and attach Death Render to it. Equipment 2.
  • Cloak of Whispersilk: 3 mana artifact equipment. The equipped creature cannot be blocked and has a shroud. Equipment 2.
