British stone. LOUIS (AP) — Sonny Gray allowed one hit and Alec Burleson drove in two runs in seven innings and the St. Louis Cardinals beat the San Francisco Giants 5-3 on Sunday. Completed a three-game sweep.

Brendan Donovan and Matt Carpenter also scored for the Cardinals, who have won five of seven games.

St. Louis pays homage to the Negro Leagues by sweeping a three-game series that begins Thursday night in Birmingham, Alabama.

Patrick Bailey homered for San Francisco, which has lost five straight games.

Gray (9-4) retired the first 20 batters he faced. He struck out eight and walked no batters. He threw 80 pitches, 57 of which were strikes, and his ERA dropped to 2.81.

Bailey made no mistake in the seventh inning with a hit over the wall in right field to break the no-hitter with two outs. Gray rebounded and struck out Jorge Soler to end the inning.

Closer Ryan Helsley earned his 26th major-league save when he put the team in order in the ninth inning. He has only one missed save this year.

Burleson was a key part of a three-run first inning, hitting Logan Webb's (6-6) third pitch to left field for an RBI single that drove in Maxine Winn ( Masyn Winn led off the inning with a double.

Burleson singled in the second inning to take a 4-0 lead. Pages hit a single and then stole his career first base.

Wilmer Flores had a run-scoring double in the eighth inning for the Giants.

Brandon Crawford had a scoring double in the eighth inning for St. Louis, which moved two games above .500 (39-37) for the first time since the final game of the 2022 season.

Cardinals: Infielder Nolan Arenado did not start Saturday's game because of left forearm discomfort. Arenado received the shot and will likely miss at least a few more days.

Outfielder Michael Ciani missed the game with a rib injury.
