Sheriff’s Office to offer Kroger gift cards to residents during Christmas in July initiative – BG Independent News

The Wood County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with Kroger, the Sandusky County Sheriff's Office and the states of Virginia (Roanoke County Sheriff's Office) and Michigan (Genesee County Sheriff's Office), announced the launch “Santa Patrol,” celebrates “Christmas in July” on Saturday, July 13th. The initiative aims to bring the community together and spread joy by surprising residents with Kroger gift cards. The initiative brings together three Kroger departments and four sheriff's offices, united in a shared commitment to giving back to the communities they live and serve every day.

During the event, Sheriff’s deputies will identify residents and provide them with Kroger gift cards so they can enjoy shopping at their local Kroger store.

“The Wood County Sheriff's Office is excited to partner with Kroger to celebrate Christmas in July,” said Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn. “This is a great example of Kroger and the Sheriff's Office working together to positively interact with the public. We love helping and serving our community!

Sandusky County Sheriff Mark Hilton said, “Working with and for our communities is a privilege that every law enforcement officer enjoys, and when you give back in other ways to the people you serve, That privilege is amplified. “The Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office is proud to partner with Kroger for this special Christmas in July giveaway. This is an incredible example of trusted local businesses Kroger and the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office coming together to give back to the community we all proudly serve.

“The purpose of Santa Patrol is to bring the community together and deliver surprise and joy in partnership with local Sheriffs,” said Mark Bruce, corporate affairs manager for Kroger’s Columbus division. “By replacing minor infractions with Kroger gift cards, our goal is to spread joy and demonstrate our shared dedication to the communities we serve.”

This measure is not only designed to put a smile on the face of the gift card recipient, but also emphasizes the importance of community involvement and cooperation between local businesses and law enforcement agencies. By working together, Kroger and the local sheriff hope to make a positive impact and foster a sense of unity within the community.
